"Happiness is an inside job." I saw that on a school's board-thingy when driving home from work. It made me smile and chill. :)
Work this morning was: urgh.
Bryce was gone on deliveries for at least an hour. But we were also very busy for that hour. Then Brian came in and business stopped for just a few minutes. Well, then it was steady. Then Bryce came back and business went RAAAAAWWRR WESA HUNGRY AND GRUMPY PEOPLE RAAAAWR!
Ugh. Somewhere in the midst of all the frowning people, Default, his girlfriend, and Dalton came in. Lots of noise was in the store for a while. Then around 2pm people left. Things chilled to steady-pace and we all took turns taking customer orders for a few rounds before business could explode again.
During one of the down times, I managed to read a bit of the Bossier newspaper. Well. I read the opinion columns. Something Fleming (our representative) wrote put me in annoyed mode.
Apparently, Congress passed something to give $25 million to help protect an Iberian lynx - which is only found in Spain and Portugal. Okay. I'm all for protecting the wildlife and shiz, but WHAT THE HELL! $25 million to protect an animal that isn't even in our country, while Americans go homeless?
Yeah. That makes a lot of sense. Oh. And not only that, but another $25 million went to some crane - same situation. Oh, and of course Congress is always passing pay-raises for themselves. But that's old news. They're always doing that. Okay. Congress should not be allowed to set their wages. That's just. *palm-face*
Maybe I should move to Austrailia and sit down under and say "WTF mate" while America government destroys the country piece by piece. Oh. What are we gonna spend our money - that we don't have - on next? Some African plant? Some fish that can only be found in the Indian Ocean?
Oh wait. We do have money, right? As long as we have printing machines, we have money. LOLOLOLOLOL I am scared for my future. And I can't help but think of that one song...
Life was filled with guns and war,
And all of us, got trampled on the floor.
I wish we'd all been ready.
Children died. The days grew cold.
A piece of bread, could buy a bag of gold. (this line has been popping into my head more and more recently)
I wish we'd all been ready.
There's no time to change your mind
The Son has come and you've been left behind.
Sigh. People. Stupidity. Will it ever end?
Will these guys see that raising taxes DOESN'T WORK. If my taxes were to be raised, I would get less of a pay check, and would save more money, spend less. Imagine lots of people in the same position. If no one is going to spend, then money is not getting circulated. You can't just grow (print) money and throw into the system - it doesn't work like that. If no one spends money, eventually, businesses go bankrupt, people go jobless, people can't pay anything. And yet we'd still hear: "RAISE TAXES! Tax the wealthy! They have so much money and they're not giving it up!" CONGRESS is the one VOTING FOR THEIR OWN DAMN PAY RAISES - using OUR MONEY! And they say WE'RE greedy?
-It makes one want to cuss and throw a fit; it really does-
Btw, so far our recession is just getting worse and worse. More and more people are joining the list of unemployed. Hey, Mr. Obama, when is your Stimulus package going to show results? Or is it already giving results, just not what you promised?
-grumble grumble-

In other news: Adam Lambert wins American Idol (well, he SHOULD at least - I can't stop buying his performance videos uwahhh I didn't even do that with David Cook!)
Also: I stopped playing WoW - mostly because it got hella boring, way too easy, and just meh lost interest - but I'm playing a free online game that's been around for a few years (three or four I think? Maybe more?) called MapleStory. It's a 2d side-scroller MMO. How cool is that, lol?
-
As far as books I have read recently:
I've been meaning to write something about how SUPERAWESOME "The Lies of Locke Lamora" - it's a story about a con artist and the constant twists make it enjoyable and fast (and there must be something about me loving thief-type stories but keke i loved that book)
Elantris by Brandon Sanderson was also pretty good but not so much epic quality as Locke Lamora was.
And now I'm reading this book called Exiles - political fantasy has really caught my interest. Go figure. It was bound to happen sooner or later I suppose.
Now the trick is to upgrade my writing to the level of my reading interests. If that makes any sense. Geh. Well, I'm writing. Not fast or anything. But scene by scene - sometimes line by line - it comes.
That's all for now ~ (Story Status same as last possible : toldya, coming but taking a long time)
Oh! http://www.drudgereport.com - good online place to get news (kinda like a hub that posts up different articles from all areas)

-A part of me wants to gripe and complain about Obama. About the world. About the Republicans verses Democrats. About politics in general. (Can you believe the comment about whoever attended those tea parties being a racist? the hell mate? I hate that most of all)
-Another part of me, going off the first point, wants to gripe and complain about racisim being used against us. "No, the reason you hate Obama is because he's black." Uhm. No. I disagree with certain things he's doing. I just fail to understand how SPENDING money helps us get out of our huge deficit. (But, yeah, not going into it.)
-Still, a complete other side of me wants to gripe and complain about my co-workers. I work nights, as a night shift manager. There's some pent up hatred between Day and Night Shift that really irks me, seeing as it's unfounded and pointless and could lead to bringing down the business if enough people get fed up. Sigh.
-A part of me wants to gripe and complain about my brother, my fiance', my friends...well, some of them, for being so ridiculous about certain things as to make me want to shout and scream sometimes. But, again, I won't go into it.
Because, on a whole, I hate it when people complain. I really do. It irks me. So, I'm going to complain - about people complaining. Inorite. No, wait, let me explain. I'm talking about people who complain and don't act. Who sit there and cry "why? why won't you help me?" when God (or whoever) is sitting behind them, thinking "well, take a step forward and I might be able to do something."
Things in politics: I salute those who went out to the tea parties across the nation on tax day. Standing up for their views and such with actions, not just with the words on their signs (though it was really, really fun to read those signs). What did I do? Oh, I was working and just didn't feel like attending one, so I watched from the comfort of my house.
Granted, this journal is a great place to let those frustrations come out. I just don't feel like blowing everything out right now. One step at a time. And for this step: I'm going to complain about those annoying people who gripe, gripe, gripe, gripe, gripe but don't DO anything. Or when someone complains about having to work TOO MUCH or, the flip side, not getting enough hours. Don't complain about it. Do something. Trade days/hours with someone. (This is mostly referring to people at my work)
I mean, seriously, don't sit there and complain. Go out and DO.
And as for the political field. I voted for Huckabee. Mmkay. I listen to Rush. I watch Glenn Beck. So I'm going to QQ about all the STUPID things Obama does (STOP FUCKING APOLOGIZING TO EVERYONE DAMMIT! YOU MAKE US LOOK PATHETIC! What, do you think America was arrogant, hopeless, horrible, immoral, unjust...and now that you're in office everything is fine now? What the crap? You're the one taking away Vouchers so kids that WERE allowed to go to private schools, will now have to leave their current classrooms and go to the failing-public-school down the way!)
Damn. I complained about Obama anyway. Oh well. A journal is for venting. At least I don't blame Bush for my dad losing his job. That was his paranoid of a partner's fault. Damn people. Make me sick sometimes.
Sigh.
